About this listen

Suitable for children between the ages of 4 and 8, this book describes the adventures of a big, bouncy and naughty puppy, and is both entertaining and educational. Amazingly, it’s written by the dog himself! Children will be enchanted – and amused - by the antics of the main character - Ziggy, a mischievous canine who cannot help getting into trouble – much to the joy of Emma (aged 5) and Jack (aged 7) and the displeasure of their parents. In spite of all this, Ziggy is much loved by his human family. After all, he is kind and good-natured – he always wags his tail when he sees them and never, ever growls. But he does have a rival for human affection – Ginger, a big ginger tomcat. And as a result, Ziggy and Ginger fight all the time – often with disastrous consequences. But what sets Ziggy apart from all other dogs is that he is very clever. He can understand human speech and using letter tiles he can even spell (of course, he cannot speak like a human – that would be ridiculous!) Yes, he is clever, but he’s not a genius – so he often makes mistakes, as is shown by the word puzzles at the end of each story. See if the children in your life can read the secret message the word puzzles spell out. They should try as Ziggy has written it especially for them. There are ten stories – 1.Me; 2. New Friends; 3. Jelly Beans; 4. Ginger; 5 Ginger’s Revenge; 6. Easter Egg Hunt; 7. A Story of Colours; 8. Ginger Does It; 9. A Party; 10; Mr Fox. Finally, the word and spelling puzzle. Publisher’s warning: the book contains some lavatory humour which might make you grimace or laugh - depending on whether you are an adult or a child.
