Story
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

Wonderful audiobook for children
If you could sum up Zwoosh! in three words, what would they be?
Informative, engaging, fun
Have you listened to any of Marie Rose’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first time I've heard a narration by Marie Rose. She's fabulous! Very silky, warm and engaging style.
Any additional comments?
Honestly, I wondered if anyone could pull off an audiobook of a children's picture book, but this one delivers. Marie Rose not only brings us an engaging tale, but intertwines tidbits of science facts which fascinated this adult. This is a perfect bedtime story and Ms. Rose's ability to write an enjoyable book is equaled by her ability to bring a warm, convincing read. Perfect for kids and adults alike.

Zwoosh! delivers heart and fun
Would you consider the audio edition of Zwoosh! to be better than the print version?
Very different, almost apples and oranges, due to the picturebook nature of the source material. That said, the audiobook of the story worked surprisingly well without pictures because of the warm narration, space age/fun soundtrack, and cute bits of sound F/X mixed in... these all combined to PAINT pictures for the ears.
Who was your favorite character and why?
THE MOON MEN! And the Martians, too. They each had distinct sounds that gave them personalities even though they weren't really speaking English at all.
.
Which character – as performed by Marie Rose – was your favorite?
She narrates like a loving adult would to a very loved child, adding in nuances of humor or wonder that keeps the listener arrested until the end of the story.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This clever, original storybook is imaginative, educational, fantastical, magical and other worldly. I loved every bit of it. I’ve already enjoyed it several times with children and they enjoy discovering all the hidden surprises as the story takes us through our solar system in unexpected ways. I especially love all the personal touches of the child's relationship to her parents and daily life and special places - unlike a lot of canned storybooks that talk down to kids, this one has a fresh plot that is full of heart.
Any additional comments?

How sweet and very age appropriate.
This is an extremely short story for very small children. If a thunderstorm starts our hero gets into a space ship and Zwoosh around our galaxy waving at the fifteen fingered moon dwellers.
The narrator and author is the same and I find that Marie has a clear voice, her calm in telling this particular story is obvious and I think awesome since I think the book will well serve parents who have children who is afraid of thunderstorms. I really loved the little story and I am sure your little one will as well.
Also the act of listening to a narrated story in and off itself is always calming and I cannot see how this book could fail to achieve what it was written for...to calm and ignite the imagination.

A fantastical ride with heartwarming charm.
Would you listen to Zwoosh! again? Why?
It's an imaginative story told with warmth, vibrancy and infectious joy. The writing is vivid and easy to imagine. It takes you into this child's world immediately. I would definitely play it for and recommend it to the children in my life. I would actually listen to it for myself as a sort of escape back to my best childhood memories.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Zwoosh!?
The facts about planets and moons were weaved into the story in a way that were exciting and memorable.
What does Marie Rose bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She brings a depth and warmth that you can't get otherwise, like listening to a loving mother reading to her child. She sounds like she's enjoying the story and it translates to the listener through the inflections and joyful quality. You can somehow hear her smiling.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I loved the little details about the child's real world that, to me, gives him the life and freedom to have such a wonderful imagination.
Any additional comments?
This is a special book. The story paints a picture of a very loved child.

All The Colors!
If you could sum up Zwoosh! in three words, what would they be?
Pretty Space Journey
What did you like best about this story?
All the colors are here! In the pictures and the story abound in description. The review of the spectrum is sneaky in its instruction; the journey of our solar system is both informative and whimsical. It is perfect for the young mind that wants to imagine, but needs some fuel to understand the places you can go.
Have you listened to any of Marie Rose’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I am familiar. She seems so happy to be there, reading to her young audience!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Probably the Moon Men and their S'mores. I also love the description at the very beginning of the shimmering rainbow launching.
Any additional comments?
The artwork is so beautiful, and the writing seems personal. A playful adult want to have fun with the listener--a playmate! Fun to read along with, too.
