So we head out into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to backpack a section of the North Country Trail We were packed and ready to go. We could t be more excited. We stay in our little hotel the first night before taking the shuttle to the trailhead. We pack our gear and then head out for a trial run down the road.

Something doesn’t feel right. This is not good.

We tell our story about backpacking the North Country Trail in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. This 44 mile journey is epic with views, scenery, and just an overall amazing experience.

We have never hiked a trail quite like this before traveling right along the cliffs of the largest lake of the Great Lakes. We had some up’s and down’s and experienced some highs and lows and we are here to share that experience with you.

Gia’s family has lived in this area for many years and many of the family still reside there. Since her parents loved the area so much, it became special to them so they purchased a home there, a block away from the Lake.

We have vacationed up here several times so we take a minute to share our thoughts, feelings, and love for the area.
