Publisher's summary
Debut author Jilly Gagnon bursts onto the scene with a story equal parts bite and romance, perfect for fans of Jenny Han and Jennifer E. Smith, about falling for someone in front of everyone.
In this modern-day love story, girl likes boy. Girl snaps photo and posts it online. Boy becomes insta-famous. And what starts out as an innocent photo turns into a whirlwind adventure that forces them both to question whether fame and love are worth the price and changes both of their lives forever.
Told from alternating points of view, #famous captures the sometimes crazy thrill ride of social media and the equally messy but wonderful moments of liking someone in real life.

Very Enjoyable
Terrific voice and humor. A modern twist to an old story that doesn't disappoint.

Fantastic debut novel, left me wanting more!
I really enjoyed this book, and doubt that I'm the exact target audience (over 50 female) - but I loved this book. Good character development, and brought you back to the innocent high school days. It is a great time in history to read this book.
The narrators, yes there are two, were both well cast. I especially liked 'Rachel' who sounded just the right age with accompanying emotions.
I highly recommend this book.

Fresh and Fun, Even if Lacking
Not delving too deep into breaking down the story, I enjoyed the book. Yeah, the characters mention their feelings through similes with their guts at least once every five minutes, and plenty motivations felt contrived, but I got what I wanted when I first bought the book. I smiled a lot, rolled my eyes, and just enjoyed listening to something light.
Honestly, I feel like the book could have been so much more, and only grazed the surface of some really interesting concepts and character development. Everything was so /almost/. If a few more layers had been peeled back, I think this could have been a really fantastic story.
BUT! Like I said, it was pretty enjoyable. Rachel is fantastic, but unfortunately, Kyle felt pretty flat to me. He's exceptionally kind and hot, but that's about it. His relationship with Rachel felt like a spectator sport. He didn't really add anything to her wit or her interests, just watched her in amusement. Yeah, maybe that was supposed to be his arc in character development, but they had nothing in common until the very end.
I keep getting off-topic from what I really want to say. This book is fun! It's charming and witty. Definitely give it a listen if you're looking for something a little bit mindless, with romance and drama.
