会津若松へ行く電車はE721系の２両編成で、かなり前から入線していたので、座席確保しているのが精いっぱいで食事確保に失敗でした。立ち席も出るくらいの混雑でしたが、磐梯熱海あたりまでで立ち客は下車していきます。
上り勾配とカーブが続く区間を走っていき、猪苗代湖畔駅跡のところで猪苗代湖をかすめると関都に着きます。
