１月上旬に1年の無病息災を願って行われる伝統行事です。
竹や間伐財を利用して櫓を組み上げ、そこに正月の門松やしめ縄などを入れます。
夜になり、やぐらに火をつけると、炎が天高く舞い上がり夜空を焦がします。
このときの「パンパン」という大きな音をたててはじける竹の音が「鬼」を追い払い、
無病息災・厄難消除の御利益があるといいます。
