You’re better off getting a book on Ancient Rome, or going on YouTube.
I chose this podcast due to the large number of episodes and thought that I would find a wealth of information and detail. Instead it’s just brief overviews with little details here and there to give the appearance of depth.
I was also confused by The narrator’s condescending tone toward the historical records. As if passive aggressively trying to assert his intelligence over hundreds years old stories/documents. I made it through 20 episodes to see if it got any better, before giving up.
Overall this will give anyone not familiar with Roman history a basic understanding. But there are other books/documentaries/podcast that do it better. And for people who already have a baseline knowledge of Ancient Rome, there won’t be much you’ll gain from listening to this.
