He is an assistant professor of graphic design at North Carolina State University; contributing editor at AIGA Eye On Design; director of the design and editorial studio twenty-six; and host of the design podcast Scratching the Surface. His research focuses on design discourse, media, and publishing, with a special interest in institutional histories, alternative practices, and critical design.
