About this listen

On 100% More Sock we will be exploring the perks of being disabled. For example, when I get on public transport I never have to stand up, I rarely open my own door (thank you kind strangers) and of course I get 100% more sock when I buy a pair thanks to only having one leg.

Each episode I will be talking to a different disabled person about the perks and positive aspects of their disability.

Being disabled is by no means all doom and gloom and I want to hear all about your happy bits.

    Jul 18 2021

Hello and welcome to episode 10. Today I am joined by motivational speaker, diversity consultant, life coach and model, Leo Collins. Leo has cerebral palsy.

As you can tell Leo has a heap of amazing stuff going on. He talks about his coaching that he's recently got into and says that his focus is going to be on coaching gratitude and positivity which is totally my vibe so I was proper chuffed when he reached out to me. This is a great chat with many giggles involved.

Check out Leo's Instagram @leo1aces as well as his website https://www.acesdiversitytraining.com/

In other news, I want to share with you some places you can find the lovely Tom Hollingworth's music. Tom and I (but mostly Tom) made the theme tune together and I'd love it if you fancied checking out his other bits and bobs on the below links.

Episode 9 I'm joined by the relentlessly positive Tina. I love the way she calls falls random gravity checks. It's a perfect illustration of the way in which a seemingly bad thing can be given a positive spin and I absolutely love it.

Tina and I met at work in our current jobs and as soon as she told me she was an avid listener to the podcast I had to have her on.

Tina has cerebral palsy and gets around on her trusty wheelchair Diego. Hope you like our chat.

Episode 8 I am joined by the lovely Jo from Jo's Odd Shoes; an amazing Facebook group dedicated to providing either individual shoes, or odd sized pairs to those who need them.

Jo was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome about 20 years ago and has been living with chronic pain ever since.

The complications of which led to her getting her leg amputated in 2018.

As ever though there are always positives to be found, in Jo's case this pretty much entirely revolves around stalking Gary Barlow!! Hehe.

Check out Jo's Odd Shoes Facebook page.
