  • The American Plan was one of the largest violations of women's rights in US history, but it's one of the least remembered. For over half a century thousands of American women were arrested, forcibly examined and detained without due process, no trial and no evidence of a crime. Their offence? Being suspected of "immorality" under the social hygiene movement, also known as the American Plan.

I almost got picked up in Tennessee

it was 2010 and my partner and I were down south for a Supernatural con. We were heading home early in the morning. I got out to pump gas at 5am and the local constabulary tried to pick me up for prostitution because I needed an escort this time of morning. my 2 m plus tall partner gets out of the car and they mumble some bullshit and disappear in under 15 seconds. I don't even want to think what would have happened.
