ヨハネの手紙第一 1:9は、義人にのみ当てはまります。まだ贖われていない罪人が、この聖句のみことばに従って、日々の罪を贖おうとして、自分の不正を告白しようとしたなら、その人の罪は終わらないことでしょう。私がここで申し上げていることが、おわかりですか。この節は、まだ新しく生まれていない罪人には当てはまりません。
この世には、まだ新しく生まれていない人が大勢いますが、ヨハネの手紙第一 第 1 章からこの節を取り上げて、赦しを願い、祈って罪を悔い改めます。
しかし、新しく生まれていない者は、告白の祈りを通して罪を完全に贖うことができるでしょうか。これは、先に進む前に考え、明確にしなければならない重要な点です。
