About this listen
In this episode I chat to Katie Crawford-Smith, my sister about her social work and what it was like growing up the youngest of four children.
We get real about what its like to grow up with a father who was for most of our childhood, dependently unwell. What it was like to be told you were not capable at school, and how Katie dealt with the death of our brother.
We recorded the episode in Katies share house in Katoomba, Australia. It was quite cold for a summer days. I have purposefully kept the recording raw and unedited.
In our conversation, we explore many topics, including self doubt, mental illness, family, death, and suicide.
I encourage you to listen with an open heart, but be prepared that the subject matter can be difficult at times. Go gently.
If you are struggling with grief or loss, please reach out for help. There are many resources available, including Lifeline Australia (13 11 14).
