About this listen
The joint British monarchy of William (1650-1702) and Mary II (1662-1694) is known as the Glorious Revolution of 1688, in which King James II (1633-1701) was overthrown in favor of his Protestant daughter Mary and her husband, the Dutch Prince William of Orange—causing upheavals throughout the English empire, including North America.
