Not only did she face these trials, but she also battled cancer and emerged victorious.
Growing up in Qaraoun, West Bekaa, she was nurtured in a home between a church and a mosque, instilling values of love and compassion. Despite financial hardships, her passion for science led her to excel academically and advocate for nursing education since 1986. Deeply spiritual, Nuhad is filled with faith in God and humanity, and her belief in the power of service has inspired generations of nurses.

في هذه الحلقة من البودكاست، يلتقي ريكاردو كرم نهاد يزبك ضومط، أستاذة التمريض والباحثة المتفانية في الجامعة الأميركية. بدأت رحلة نهاد في العناية المركزة خلال الحرب اللبنانية، حيث واجهت تحدّيات كبيرة شكّلت قدرتها على الصمود. وعلى الرغم من مرورها بكل الحروب التي عاشها لبنان، حافظت على رفع رأسها وعملت بتفانٍ لا يتزعزع في خدمة مجتمعها. ولم تكتفِ بمواجهة هذه المحن، بل انتصرت أيضاً في معركتها مع مرض السرطان.
نشأت نهاد في بلدة القرعون في البقاع الغربي، في بيت يقع بين الكنيسة والمسجد، ممّا غرس في قلبها قيم الحب والتسامح. ورغم الصعوبات المالية، قادها شغفها بالعلم إلى التفوق أكاديمياً والمناصرة للتعليم في مجال التمريض منذ عام 1986. نهاد ذات روحانية عميقة، مفعمة بالإيمان بالله والإنسانية، وإيمانها بقوة الخدمة ألهم أجيالًا من الممرضات.
