  • Many of us attend Mass on the weekends "because we have to" and do not fully understand what the Church is asking of us in the Sunday Obligation. The Catechism says "Sunday is to be observed as the foremost Holy Day of Obligation" (CCC 2192). As we better understand the Sunday Obligation, we can come to Mass with open hearts ready to receive our Lord, and be nourished for the week ahead.
