WEIRD cultures (Western, educated, industrialized, rich, and democratic) have been making parenting unnecessarily more difficult than it was designed to be. From helicopter and free-range parenting, to distracting children instead of intentionally involving them in quotidian household responsibilities, we are unwittingly becoming the source of our modern-day parenting grievances.
