In this episode, Dr. Wing Lim welcomes Dr. Marc-Emile Plourde, a radiation oncologist and medical entrepreneur, to the show to talk about his medical and entrepreneurial journey. Marc-Emile has been in practice for eleven years, has a chemist wife and two young children, and he also runs a medical pocket book digital publishing company. He talks with Wing about his reasons for creating the digital publishing app and explains how he not only offers advice to medical authors but coaches them through the process of detailing their specialties.
Dr. Lim and Dr. Plourde discuss the ever-changing face of medical publishing, the challenges and rewards of maintaining an entrepreneurial side business while in medicine, and the call of helping professions. About Dr. Marc-Emile Plourde:
Dr. Marc-Emile Plourde is a doctor specializing in radiation oncology. He over-specializes in the treatment of lung cancer, cerebral metastases and cancers of the digestive system.
Dr. Plourde has been working at the Sherbrooke University Hospital Center (CHUS) as a clinical doctor since September 2014. He is also an assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Sherbrooke.
