Revisiting a family favorite

it was wonderful to drift off to the familiar and beloved Demeter and Persephone myth. The story did it's job and I fell asleep before Persephone found herself in the underworld. I have always associated this story with autumn and All Hallows Eve. Our tradition is to buy a pomegranate around that time, peel and eat it while we tell this tale. We live in Oregon and pomegranates are plentiful then. So, it was a surprise to hear this scenario discussed around Spring Equinox. If one wanted to shift the tradition to spring, arranging spring flowers would be nice to do while recounting the ancient story. Of course for listeners in the southern hemisphere, it is autumn - the time of Persephone's descent.
