  • Ep. 1: What Is a Dinosaur?
    Jul 10 2019

With such huge diversity in both form and habits, what is it that makes a dinosaur distinct from a crocodile or a lizard?

Ben explores the stores in London’s Natural History Museum to meet the earliest known dinosaur and learns of the cataclysmic events that came about at the dawn of this incredible group of animals.

  • Ep. 2: Size Matters
    Jul 10 2019

After millions of years as the underdog amongst much bigger, meaner animals, the end-Triassic mass extinction event gave the dinosaurs their chance to flourish... and boy did they grow big!

Ben meets some of the biggest animals to ever walk the earth, finds out how we know how big they got, and how and why they reached such huge sizes.

  • Ep. 3: Feathered Freaks
    Jul 10 2019

A discovery in China in the mid-nineties changed how we picture dinosaurs forever. It was the first fossil of a feathered dinosaur ever found and it finally proved unequivocally that birds are the direct decedents of dinosaurs.

Ben hears about an amazing discovery that sheds light on when, and why, feathers first evolved and what fossilised feathers can tell us about the colour of dinosaurs.

Wonderful

I highly recommend this book to everyone. I was mind-blown by the fact that birds are dinosaurs--no really they are LITERALLY living dinosaurs. The most famous dinosaurs--including T-Rex--were literally also birds complete with feathers. Velociraptor was the size of a modern day chicken and also had feathers. This is a must-listen if you are at all interested at all in dinosaurs or birds.

Dinosaurs rule!

This is awesome! As a child, I found dinosaurs fascinating. Growing up, I grew out of them but always got a little excited when a new species was discovered. As an adult, nostalgia kicked in and a lot of the films and stories I loved as a kid became relevant once more. That also included my love for science and of course dinosaurs. It’s a fun hobby nowadays to read up and listen to new information about these amazing creatures and this series of episodes has been very informative and interesting. A must listen to for people with kids who love dinosaurs, or just have a craving for more information on their favorite thing as a kid! It’s content like this that makes Audible worth every penny.

podcast/episode series

A lot of fun. I listen to documentaries while I work so this was great. Sometimes I wanted to look at what they were talking about (only downside).

Wish there was more!

This kept me interested! I was worried how an audible book would fare with so much of the content reliant on pictures, but the host did a great job painting those pictures!

Never was interested in dinosaurs, until I listened to this one

Very simple and straightforward podcast. Easy to listen to, easy to grasp, kids friendly.

I just didn’t like the last bit of the last episode when they mentioned the human current impact on global warming. It felt as if it was forced into the story, and kind of took away from the grandeur of this story. But I still recommend to listen to this one, it is amazing.
