Today, we cover two chapters, 9 and 10. We are going to see the Lord appear to Solomon and then Solomon’s great wisdom and wealth on display. Are you blessed beyond measure? Solomon was. Can you be too?

1 Kings 8 is one of the greatest chapters in all of 1 and 2 Kings. It is the dedication of the temple. Solomon prays. How is your prayer life?

Today, we are in 1 Kings 7. Solomon builds his own palace, and he provides furnishings for the temple. Hiram, a construction worker, is “full of wisdom, understanding, and skill” (v. 14). He did the work for Solomon. What skills do you bring to work each day?

In our journey through 1 Kings, we will cover chapters 5 and 6, the building of the temple. When God calms the storms in your life, what do you do next? Solomon built a temple. What do you build as unto the Lord?

Today, we will cover two chapters in 1 Kings, chapters 3 and 4. We will learn about Solomon’s prayer for wisdom, resulting in great wisdom and great wealth. If God said, “Ask what I shall give you” (3:5), what would you ask for?

In 1 Kings 2, David instructs his son, Solomon. David dies, and Solomon establishes his kingdom. Have there been times in your life when you had to clean up someone else’s mess? How did it make you feel?

1 Kings chronicles the many ways God’s people rob themselves by following false gods, yet God is ever-present in the ups and downs of 1 and 2 Kings. Some key things to look for in 1 Kings: Yahweh is the only true God; Yahweh controls history; Yahweh expects exclusive worship; and Yahweh is not only a lawgiver but a promise giver. The consequences of false worship are evidenced in 1 Kings.

Here we are at the end of 2 Samuel, the final chapter. David conducted a census. Was he told to do so by God or Satan? What voice do you hear?
