About this listen
The source, an article published on LinkedIn by Waihiga K. Muturi, discusses the need for a fundamental shift in African philanthropy, advocating for trust-based approaches that honour indigenous knowledge and local leadership. It argues that traditional donor models are outdated and that empowering community-based organisations directly leads to increased impact. The article highlights the Give to Africa (G2A) platform as a structural innovation designed to redistribute power and provide African organisations with direct access to global funding through an NGO platform and a fiscal sponsorship program. The author encourages organisations to engage with these opportunities to participate in a continental reimagining of philanthropy.Your Pathway to Participation
