  • The Haunting in Connecticut
    May 20 2025

In 1986, the town of Southington, Connecticut, was in an uproar. Normally, a place known for its perfect small-town charm, it had been thrown into a frenzy of media chaos, thanks to a family that was reporting that their new house was haunted.

A check of real estate records in town revealed that the house was indeed the former Hallahan Funeral Home. The idea of living in what was once a funeral home did cause some concerns for the Snedekers but what were they supposed to do? They were nearly broke and every cent they had was being committed to Phillip’s cancer treatment.

It would be fine. It was just an old funeral home. What could go wrong?

  • The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It
    May 6 2025

In 1981, a young man in Connecticut took the idea of the insanity plea to the next level. He claimed that he was innocent of the murder he’d committed – he’d only done it because he was possessed by a demon.

While the previous two Conjuring films took the intrepid duo, Ed and Lorraine Warren, to haunted houses, this was a new kind of horror story for the pair. And while the film takes the demon plot and runs wild with it in the last half of the movie, the first half is loosely based on the real story of the first time that demonic possession was brought up as a defense in a U.S. court.

  • The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist
    Apr 22 2025

“It was chaos, things started flying around, people were screaming.”

In 1977, hot on the heels of the publicity they received after the Amityville Horror case – which is show in the cold open of the film – the Warrens claimed that they investigated the happenings in Enfield, undoubtedly drawn there by all the press the case was getting at the time. Before they even arrived at the Hodgson home, several independent observers dismissed the case as a hoax carried out by "attention-hungry" children, but the Warrens would, of course, state that it was a case of demonic possession.

For those interested in folk lore, the paranormal/supernatural, general history, good yarns and good, old-fashioned horse's assery and dipshittery, this might just be the podcast for you! So, get yourself some pretzels and your best, nice cold, 120 year old vintage bottle of Lemp beer, and sit down for a while and take a listen ; and marvel at the fact that we live in a country where two morons living way too close to the Mason-Dixon and I70 line can make it in podcasting! It brings an inspirational tear to your eye and a lump in your throat to think about it....

Not bad!

I have never listened to a podcast cast until now. it has been very good. I have even gotten a book about hauntings 9n Alton and I have also thought about doing one of Troy guided tours. You two gentlemen make the podcast very interesting.

I have never been into pod cast until I found this as a recommendation after a book. I listen everyday and have enjoyed every episode. I have been into the paranormal etc.. since I had a weird experience coming home from my grandmas when I was about 10. I have heard all the stories about Alton St. Louis all of southern Illinois, and all the main stream ones too, but I have never heard the history behind them and this pod cast gave this to me. It you enjoy ghost and history like me I highly recommend!!!

Great pod cast

Pro's:
The Stories are well developed and researched. Narration of story is very good. His voice pleasant and the inflection and pace was dead on for me with the story part of the podcast. You can tell a lot of time and effort was put into recording a quality podcast.

Con's:
What's with the constant banjo/guitar picking???? By the 4th story the musical accompaniments were all I could hear. It felt a little to 'Deliverance' for my taste.
The post commentary tended to be more sales pitches for various ticket, books and events than discussion of story.

Pro's and Con's

It's a lot of fun to listen to while I'm working. I only wish that I could listen to it for the whole shift.

Makes for a good distraction

My brother Kaleb told me about this podcast about a year ago. He recently went to your conference and came back with lots of fun stories. I’m so glad he got to meet you guys. For reference, I am 18 years older than him so I’ve gotten the rare opportunity to watch my brother grow up. This is the first time I’ve seen him so excited about anything. He is studying paranormal and acquiring Equipment to start ghost hunting. He would probably say that I’m describing it wrong. Lol. But he brought me a troy book as a souvenir and I’m excited to read it. I’ve loved your podcast and have learned to accept troys interruptions of Cody. Maybe I will get to go with him next time. Thanks again!

I love ghost stories and I love true crime and I feel like this is the perfect mix of both. The history behind the hauntings is great and I love that so much research has gone into it. You both are great and make me laugh.

One of my very favorite podcasts
