• The Redemption Corridor, by Daniel Wright
    Nov 1 2024

Today, Roberta talks to Daniel Wright about his new book The Redemption Corridor: Understanding Sacred Topography in the Holy Land, the Pattern of YHVH, and the Way of the Messiah.

Centered in Israel’s biblical heartland, lies a narrow strip of terrain, which I believe is a chosen region, above all others on the earth. I call it The Redemption Corridor. This unique swath of land was exclusively selected by YHVH (the God of Israel) for His own sovereign work of both implementing and commemorating the redemption of humanity. Within this terrestrial rectangle, an astonishing list of familiar, biblical events (and especially their geographic locations) all appear to have been arranged in an obvious east-to-west, somewhat linear, orientation.

In this book, I will explain the who, what, and where of these amazing events straight from the text of the Bible. I will further elucidate my findings and speculations using extra-biblical writings, historical sources, archaeological data, and toponymy. I am convinced the origin, function, and purpose of the Redemption Corridor is older than the earth itself, from eternity past. I believe that in our shared future, this remarkable strip of land will absolutely play the central role in YHVH’s global consummation of this terrestrial planet into Divine Holiness—the Geulah (or Redemption) foretold by the prophets (and sages) of Israel.

  • Serving as Jesus Served, by Michele Howe
    Oct 27 2024

Today, Roberta talks to Michele Howe about her new book Serving as Jesus Served: Practical Ways to Love Others, available from Hendrickson Publishers.

In Serving as Jesus Served: Practical Ways to Love Others, Michele Howe equips men and women to better understand their calling as God’s chosen ones to make a distinct and holy impact in the world. She begins by unpacking what it means to serve God and what this looks like in day-to-day life. Designed to be highly practical, Serving as Jesus Served offers readers specific Bible passages that describe our responsibilities as servants and how to implement them in a world that pursues the opposite.

Each chapter highlights a specific passage of Scripture for deeper study and includes a real-life story that illustrates how a servant is to respond to difficulties, opposition, or resistance from others. Every story is followed by a biblical application essay, a Take-away Thought, a Prayer of Confession, a Call to Action, and a Call to Serve prompt for every day of the week. Also included are inspirational quotations, memory verses, and introspective questions for readers to contemplate and pray about. Serving as Jesus Served answers the question posed by many earnest believers: “How do I best serve Jesus in a world so hostile to my faith?”

  • She Who Dwells, by Jessica Landmon
    Oct 26 2024

Today, Roberta talks to Jessica Landmon about her new book She Who Dwells: Overcoming Fear and Finding Peace.

CAN I REALLY LIVE A LIFE OF PEACE RATHER THAN ONE CONSUMED BY FEAR?

Fear and anxiety are issues that women continually struggle with. This is not God’s intention for His daughters. He wants them to be set free from the lies of the enemy so that they can become all they are destined to be in Christ Jesus. She Who Dwells is a verse-by-verse study of Psalm 91, digging deep into the promises of God. This book will equip women to live lives of faith and trust in their Creator.

This eleven-chapter book is designed for group or personal study and is appropriate for women of all ages. Women will:

    • Learn practical techniques in how to get into the presence of God
    • Discover what dwelling with their Heavenly Father actually looks like
    • Understand how to trust the Lord at His Word
    • Dive deeper into a study of the character, nature, and the very heart of our loving Creator

Instead of being consumed by the “what-ifs” of this world, a woman will learn to dwell in the arms of her Heavenly Father when the storms of life come rolling in.

  • Finding KIND, by Kari Baker
    Oct 20 2024

Today, Roberta talks to Kari Baker about her new book Finding KIND: Discovering Hope and Purpose While Loving Kids with Invisible Neurological Differences.

“When an earthquake occurs, the tectonic plates shift far beneath the surface, and they never go back to where they started.”

Kari Baker always loved a good plan. But when her only son Brady was diagnosed with autism in 2014, her plans for a typical parenting experience were shaken to the core. Her journey started with all the pain, uncertainty, and isolation that so many special needs parents encounter, but along the way she found faith, community, and joy in surrendering to God’s design.

Finding KIND is an account of Kari’s initial awakening to Brady’s neurological differences, the early years adapting to life as an autism mom, and later accepting and appreciating Brady for exactly who God made him to be.

Ultimately, Kari’s experiences as a KIND Mom offer practical suggestions for thriving when the best laid plans go awry. Anyone who knows and loves a kid with invisible neurological differences or who is exploring faith in the midst of life’s challenges will find hope and encouragement in Kari’s story.

Today, Roberta talks to Chelsea Ohlemiller about her new book Now That She's Gone: A Daughter's Reflections on Loss, Love, and a Mother's Legacy, available from Revell publishers.

The day your mother dies is the day you acquire a powerful and persistent new companion--grief. It is also the day you become the keeper of a legacy that has the potential to affect generations to come. Between a past you can't let go of and a future you can hardly find the energy to think about, you stand. The ground may feel shaky, but it is sacred. And it must be tread.

These raw reflections on heartbreak, love, and hope in the midst of sorrow can help you put words to your own tangled feelings when you are speechless with grief. Chelsea does not couch her narrative in spiritual jargon or edit her feelings into "acceptable" sentiments that ultimately mean nothing and help no one. Instead, she invites you to be radically honest about your anger, disbelief, and sorrow so that you can move forward even if it feels like you will never be able to move on.

Whether you had a great relationship with your mother or a complicated one, you will find in this book a compassionate and understanding friend for the days, months, and years to come.
