There is some precious stuff in John that should not be forgotten. Except I did, and you probably do too. Such is the Christian walk.

As John writes the last paragraph of JOHN, he leaves a teaser for the future: There is a LOT MORE of Jesus. You've got a library as big as the world to explore. We'll have to wait for that library.

Meantime, we have this book, this Bible. Let us not let it go to waste. Please read it and understand the truths within. More than that, please BELIEVE.

Peter is temporarily curious about the outcome of the spiritual walk of John. Jesus gives him a bit of a rebuke. Worry about yourself. YOU follow me first. YOU Mr. Peter, practice the habits of faith for yourself.

The faith journey of another is above your pay grade. As for you, FOLLOW ME!

When Peter hears that he’s gonna die, I think he’s encouraged at the news. With some bad parts, he also hears he's gonna be faithful, willing and old. He hears that his death will glorify God, as it does even to this day.

All of this together is an encouragement for Peter. Listen and watch 7 minutes. subscribe if you are not yet old.

Peter is GRIEVED that Jesus has to ask him the same question 3 times in a row. I don't think he's mad at Jesus. I think Peter is grieved at himself; that the 3x question was needed for his own benefit.

In the church, the best LEADERS are the best LOVERS of God. So, Peter had to get this right with the Lord. In Peter's case, it is the BROKEN who make the best witnesses for the Lord.
