About this listen
Rachael McPhail is a proud Gomeroi woman who lives on Wiradjuri Country in Coolamon, NSW.
In 2020, Rachael was successful in her campaign to ask Australia Post to include traditional First Nations place names in addresses on envelopes and packaging.
She is now campaigning for the creation of a database of traditional place names through a First Nations-led project, through respectful and inclusive consultation with Elders and community leaders.
In this episode, your host Dixie Crawford yarns with Rachael about her campaigns and discusses what she believes is needed in current Australia to break down barriers for First Nations peoples and communities, and allow them to succeed.
