About this listen

On today’s episode, Meghan sits down with Kadi Lee, co-founder of Highbrow Hippie and the go-to colorist for some of Hollywood’s biggest names. What began as a blog has since grown into a brick-and-mortar salon and a thoughtfully crafted product line, all built with heart and the utmost attention to detail. The pair discuss what it means to grow something from the ground up, how to lead with your values, and why staying connected to your community is the ultimate marker of success.

I felt like this is my life. Kadi is Jamaican and so am I. She grew up in Connecticut and so did I. She is artistic and so am I, She moved to California because Connecticut was so cold. I moved to Texas so again it sounds like my story. She had to take care of her hair without any direction. Ditto. I could not stop listening to this story. It pulled me in and I could not stop listening. Love the story.

Meghan has such an ease and focused presence with her guests as she interviews them. Although they're in depth, they're also comfortable and fun.

Brick by Brick Excellence

Brick by Brick is not a new concept but it fits this story. I am amazed a the founder dedication to her loyal clients during the pandemic. That can imagine feeling gutted after a newly opening business. However, despair did not set in but perseverance won the day. Look at it now!
I am also feeling inspired by the friendship of the owners when there is friction. They remember the goal and work through it. Great lesson in life and in business. So far I like all three episodes and very different perspectives from all these successful ladies. I wish them well!

In a society that invests less than 0.2% in AA women businesses, Meghan chats with Kadi Lee who confirms this stat, and despite it used her creativity, resiliency, focus, and kinetic energy to become a successful female founder. Listen♥️
