About this listen

A hilarious take on modern dating through the eyes of Northern ex-pat Grace and laidback Londoner Elliot as they attempt to navigate life while being haunted through the years by a blind date that goes disastrously wrong.

Grace Williams and Elliot Dowd meet for a blind date arranged by Connector Magazine’s ‘Match-Ups’ feature, a popular free mag flung in to the hands of commuters at tube stations. They both arrive with good intentions but the date quickly turns sour due to a series of hilarious mishaps...the date is deemed a disaster, and neither Grace not Elliot want to see each other ever again. The Universe however has other ideas...the feature is a hit for the magazine and it goes viral turning them both in to overnight celebrities. As the years pass and Elliot and Grace’s world’s continue to collide they can’t deny their enduring, if infuriating, connection.

Written by accomplished audio writer Eddie Robson, Car Crash is produced for Audible by Bafflegab, an award winning leader in audio production.

This was a great show! Best Rom-com I've heard or seen in a while! Alfred Enoch doing comedy was surprisingly amazing!!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️ I like romance podcasts, I enjoy how it is like an old school radio show. This one was decent BUT…Grace is just too much. What a cow, and Elliot is a jerk. These two are just not even nice to each other. Not even an enemies to lovers vibe. Just seem to be there to irritate the other - I do see how they start to get sweet on each other.. But I don't feel either has changed their ways… perhaps they deserve each other.

Fun podcast. Not what I expected. A little preachy about lifestyle politics. Storyline was unique. Loved the characters ... especially Elliot, hated Grace though. She is super insecure and knows she's unlikable. Nice it was a quasi HE.

Narration was fantastic! 👏 👏 👏. I love Alfred Enoch's sexy voice! Entire cast was terrific!

Interesting, diff take on love. Performance GREAT!

the plot was good overall but the characters were extremely annoying and negative. it was hard to like either of them and the ending felt rushed and unsatisfying.

it was okay

I love the main characters, Gracie and Elliot. They were so funny and relatable. Adults figuring life out and dating and relationships. The performances were excellent and really enjoyed how the episodes were formatted and the length. In conclusion a very hilarious and lovely listen.

Funny and relatable!

After the first episode I was hooked! I enjoyed how the podcast followed both of their lives and the challenges they faced that led to their own growth and perceptions.

Stellar voice performances. The interactions between characters didn’t at all feel studio bound, oh, so kudos to the sound engineers as well. There were so many manipulative twists and turns that at times I felt it should have been billed as a psychological thriller, but seriously, I found it difficult to root for or inhabit the vantage points of any of the main characters, actually I think the supporting characters felt strangely more fleshed out than the protagonists. The ending was a tad cliched but thematically, I appreciated the attempt to help the listener understand the gender differentials of online bullying and this was done in ways that were organic to the plot. Wouldn’t rush to listen but probably fun on a lazy day.

A Cute Meh

This story is so wonderfully smart, well-acted and so funny. The characters are great and terrible all at the same time. It's my favorite thing to listen to before I sleep. Brilliant and hilarious! ❤
