第1節:“你要寫信給以弗所教會的使者說：那右手拿著七星、在七個金燈檯中間行走的，說:”
以弗所教會是靠信仰保羅傳播的水和聖靈福音而建成的神的教會。文中的“七個金燈檯”指神的教會，信仰水和聖靈福音的人聚集在一起，“七星”指當時神的僕人。短語“那右手拿著七星”指神親自掌握和利用自己的僕人。
我們必須認識到神通過僕人約翰對亞細亞七個教會所說的話也是對今天所有教會說的話，神對我們說話並曉諭我們如何戰勝等待我們的試煉和苦難。我們必須靠聆聽和信仰啓示錄中的道戰勝撒旦。神曉諭他教會裏的每一個人。
