Shawn grew up right here in the "Old Pueblo" and attended Salpoint HS before heading to the University of Arizona. He decided to enlist in the full-time Navy and, after his "sentence" as he mistakenly said, he decided to join the Pima County Sheriff's Department after a ride along experience convinced him this was the profession for him...

He spent years on the Search and Rescue Unit, Mental Health Support Unit and ultimately became a Detective where he worked hand in hand with a future Choir Practice guest, Corrections Lt. Sean Stewart.

I had a great time listening to his stories and getting to know Shawn, I can't wait for The Squad to get to know him as well!!!

Steve grew up as a Military Brat, but settled one the Aurora/ Denver area of Colorado as a young man. He suffered some pretty tragic family circumstances which led to him joining the US Marine Corps out of High School, around the tail end of the Vietnam War. Serving as an aircraft mechanic on the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk jet, he was stationed in CA.

After his service, he moved to Tucson, AZ and that's where his career takes off. He was hired by the Sheriff's Department shortly after Walden Burr was indicted for corruption and Sheriff Cox and Chief Spitzer were brought in to clean house...

Thanks for tuning in, I hope you enjoy the show and please give the warmest welcome to our newest Squad Member...

When Dan cam over in May, we knew he'd need to come back to wrap up his career. We also took a deep dive into EMDR therapy, which Dan said literally saved his life.

I feel I enjoyed this episode more than his first and the message within the message is definitely one that every first responder needs to hear. There is help out there, you aren't alone, asking for help is courageous and not a sign of weakness.

Please tune in, share with your friends who are first responders/ public servants and your family members. I think you'll be just as touched as I was by this week's episode!!!

As always, if a friend crosses your mind there's a reason, you need to call/text them! It might make all the difference...

Occasionally we here at The Choir Practice Podcast have to pay tribute to the guests who have helped this show be all that it is today! While I appreciate EVERY guest on the show, Mike was so generous with his time and authentic in his sharing of both his personal and professional lives.

So it is my honor to bring his first interview back to the lime light and share it again for maybe some of you unfortunate souls who did not yet hear it!!!

Give him some love, tell your friends who have not yet tuned in, this is one they do not want to miss...

Just like every guest, nerves grab ahold and many leave without hitting all the highlights they intended when they walked in the door. Greg walked away, but stayed in touch to let me know he had many more up his sleeve and needed to return and finish setting the record straight....

I'm glad to know him and even more glad he's an official member of our Squad! Give him another warm welcome, sit back and enjoy the ride!!!

Gary was kind enough to come over and hang out. I'm so glad he did. 27.5 years of service in a legacy family. He forgot to mention it (Nerves) but his son is now on the department, so that's 3 generations who have served the City of Tucson.

I'm anxious for you all to hear how Gary's career (Patrol, Bikes, Vice, SWAT, and K9) turned out. He served with honor, had a few tough times but left on his terms and has made a pretty good run of being semi-retired. He plays in a band called Southern Reins and runs a residential and commercial electrical company.

Turn him up, enjoy the show!
