Because God builds his kingdom through partnership in the gospel, we must build relationships based on giving and receiving. Philippians 4:14–19 (ESV): 14 Yet it was kind of you to share my trouble. 15 And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only. 16 Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. 17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit. 18 I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. 19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

  • Living This Day In Light of That Day
    Apr 6 2025
The good news of God’s redeeming love while certainly for us and our salvation, for the church and its communal life, is also for the healing and restoration of the world. We are invited to see the entirety of our life and our work in the larger story of God making everything new - to live that call with such love and courage that a watching world would say, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’” Zechariah 8:20–23 (ESV): 20 “Thus says the LORD of hosts: Peoples shall yet come, even the inhabitants of many cities. 21 The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, ‘Let us go at once to entreat the favor of the LORD and to seek the LORD of hosts; I myself am going.’ 22 Many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the LORD. 23 Thus says the LORD of hosts: In those days ten men from the nations of every tongue shall take hold of the robe of a Jew, saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’ ”

  • Slowness and Sabbath
    Mar 30 2025
Because the sabbath command is rooted in God’s delight in creation and Israel’s exodus from slavery. We need to learn to slow down, make space, and enjoy more of our God! Exodus 20:8–11 (ESV): 8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
