  • Alyse Gaulin | Break the Shackles of Fake Health
    Nov 20 2024

When you hear phrases like, “The mind-body connection,” what do you think?

Seems pretty simple to interpret, right? The mind is connected to the body and the body is connected to the mind. But as simple as that seems, there’s still a ton of mixed messages on how we align our mind and body so they can work together to unleash the power we have - physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

If you’re tired of all the conflicting advice out there, you’re going to LOVE this week’s conversation on the Coming Up Clutch with J.R.™ show. I’m on the mic with Alyse Gaulin - the Co-Founder and CEO of Own It. Alyse helps 8, 9, and 10 figure entrepreneurs, married couples, and pro athletes make health a habit. If you want practical insight on how to unleash the power inside your mind and body, then don’t miss today’s episode.

    In this episode, you'll hear:

    • How Alyse leaned into the discomfort that comes with leaving the Comfort Zone.
    • What Alyse means by the phrase, “The mind is the body and the body is the mind.”
    • How we should think of human energy through the filter of faith.
    • How to turn off and separate work from your personal life, especially when you’re working and living with your spouse.
    • The four pillars of health and how to embrace them in your life and business.
    • Alyse’s approach to overcoming perfectionism and setting clear boundaries for a successful work-life balance.
    • Tips on maintaining healthy relationships, managing stress, and creating mental space for overall well-being.

    Key Quotes

    • "We can’t expect to run a marathon with our mind every day without recovery." - Alyse Gaulin
    • "If you’re not filling your own cup, it’s the most selfish thing you can do." - Alyse Gaulin
    • "If you’re living for your career, then you’re not living at all." - Alyse Gaulin
    • "Your spouse is there to help get you to heaven." - Alyse Gaulin

  • 5 Minute Drill | Persevere During a Pit Stop
    Nov 13 2024

    Why is persevering worth it?

In Romans 5:3-5, we get one of the main reasons why. The verse says, “...suffering produces perseverance and perseverance produces CHARACTER.”

Great. One HUGE benefit to persevering is you get character. I get it - you desperately need character to not only keep in the race you’re in but also WIN it. But HOW the heck do you persevere when things get tough?

In today’s 5 Minute Drill, we’re going to tackle this as I continue my 4-part series on purpose pit stops. It’s all about doubling down on a few particular habits that, when coupled with some prayer and praise, WATCH OUT! Talk about hurdle jumped (and then some). So, if you want to persevere like the best of the best do, then lock in to today’s Drill.

    In this episode, you’ll hear:

    • Why skipping over prayer and praise doesn’t work.
    • The formula for persevering under challenging circumstances.
    • Your mind, heart, and body’s role in persevering.
    • The mind-body connection and the need to treat the body right to keep the mind healthy.

    Key Quotes:

“Your perseverance becomes part of your healing process.” - J.R.

  • B.B. Abbott | Bet On Yourself Without a Backup Plan
    Nov 6 2024

When’s the last time you bet on yourself?

When you DON’T bet on yourself, what gets in the way? Typically, it’s the same old culprits:

    • Fear of the unknown

    • Lack of confidence

    • Confusion

They could be paralyzing, therefore keeping you stuck in status quo. In many cases, you feel like the gap between where you are and where you want to be gets wider.

If you’ve ever struggled to bet on yourself, especially when it comes to your dreams and goals, you’re going to LOVE this week’s conversation on the Coming Up Clutch with J.R.™ show. I’m on the mic with longtime baseball agent and the Executive Vice President & Managing Director of Wasserman Baseball, B.B. Abbott

    In this episode, you’ll hear:

    • Why not knowing what to do didn’t stop B.B. from betting on himself and following his passion to work in baseball
    • Why B.B. never went into following his passion with a backup plan
    • The one thing B.B. stuck close to as he was making a HUGE transition to one of the largest media companies in the world

    Key Quotes

    • “For every time you don’t take a risk, you have nothing to gain.” - B.B. Abbott
    • “Your relationships should always be at the backdrop of every decision and risk that you take.” - B.B. Abbott
    • “If you have consistency, you’re going to be successful.” - B.B. Abbott
