The Craft Beer Mafia Show with CM and Mark is coming to an end. That doesn't mean this is over. We will rebrand and expand beyond Craft Beer.

Matt Carroll with Funktastic Meads visited the guys this episode. Mark had his first taste of Mead and another door has been opened into the craft beverage world.

CM loves layered beers and a snake bite is a cider layered with a lager. Typically done with Guinness but this time CM and Mark attempt to bring it to Virginia with an O'Connor ODIS Nitro Stout over Potters Petite Cider.

The results didn't exactly look the part but it was a great tasting beertail.

We’ve heard of his delicious beer, accolades, monumental collaborations with @stonebrewing and knew we HAD to get Rusty on the show as our FIRST In-Person guest! #milestone

We were so excited to meet Rusty to learn more about him, the journey, future plans, and especially to try some of his brews! Rusty makes the Richmond Beer Scene PROUD and is an exceptionally talented and driven brewer. We had such a great time conversing but was impossible to cover everything so there will most likely be a part two in the future.

A whale beer is defined as any beer an individual has been looking to find and try for a long time. Whales are usually some combination of the following: Highly rated. Hard to find. No longer in production.

In the first episode in our Whale Series, the guys grab a can of the OG. Heady Topper from The Alchemist in Burlington Vermont. Ranked the #1 beer in the world in the mid-2010s and the original Hazy IPA. Mark and CM were lucky enough to have a good friend import a couple of cans of Heady Topper into their fridges.

In this episode, the guys enjoy Heady Topper and discuss if it is still considered one of the greatest beers in the world.

We have spent the past year talking beer on this show. It's time that people start learning more about CM Bryant. He is the subject matter expert on our show. Mark spends this episode interviewing CM so we can all learn a little more about this craft beer legend.

IPAs are the craze. CM and Mark decided to taste & smell the difference between two of the most popular hops in craft beer. The guys visited Tony Ammendolia from Final Gravity Brewing Company to get an education on Mosaic and Citra hops.  

Final Gravity brews The Doppler Effect with only Mosaic hops. Doppler Effect was the 2018 Gold Medal Winner at Virginia Craft Brewers Cup. This also ranked #12 in Paste Magazines best IPAs. 

On the Citra side, Doppelganger is brewed with only Citra hops on the same base as The Doppler Effect. CM and Mark enjoy both beers with their pinkies out. After tasting each beer, they buried their noses into a bag of Mosaic and then Citra hops. The differences were incredible and both beers are great.   

Mark goes on to do exactly what Tony told him not to do and eats a pellet of Hops! “Anything for the Show” claimed Mark.
