Crime Waves: Renaissance, TX

By: QCODE
  • Summary

  • Season 2 of Crime Waves tells the story of The Texas Renaissance Festival, the largest — and rowdiest — ren fair in the nation. A place where reality and fantasy are blurred. You may think it’s all tights and turkey legs, but what if we told you that the festival has a dark side, too? Over the years, this ren fair has been the scene of murders, assaults, and other assorted crimes. We went to the fair to investigate this place where people live out their carnal fantasies and figure out just exactly how that could become so dangerous. But we didn't expect to find danger for us. Crime Waves is developed and produced by Faceplant and QCODE, in association with No Smiling. Follow the show now for the strangest true crime stories you’ve never heard of, told by the people who were there — and the ones who picked up the pieces.

    Oct 20 2023
How far would you go to save the world from itself? Dr. Eugene Mallove believed that a new form of world-changing free energy — cold fusion — was just around the corner. Even when his work was pushed to the fringes, he dreamed of a brighter future. But before Dr. Mallove could usher in that future, he was found dead in the driveway of his childhood home. Everyone had their own ideas of who killed him, and investigators were looking in all the wrong places. Crime Waves: Cold Truth is a story about one man's quest to expose the truth, the lengths he would go to save the world, and how his dream caught up with him. ~~~ Crime Waves: Cold Truth is a collaboration of Faceplant and QCODE, in association with No Smiling. ~~~ Follow us On Instagram @QCODEMedia | @faceplantmediapodcasts | @StickFigureProductions | @NoSmilingMedia On Twitter @QCODEMedia | @faceplantmedia | @StickFigurePro | @NoSmilingMedia Learn more about your ad choices. Greta Reporting

I really enjoyed this podcast and as some one who has worked for TRF for 30 and has seen some of these events unfurl I truly believe exposing this is the best way to get it out there and educate. We do have great cops and eats out there, but we are all aware of how thi gs are mishandled.

Fascinating, exciting, weird, and more:

Something is afoot at the TX Ren Faire! This podcast really tears the Faire open and reveals a soft white underbelly filled with possible police and town government corruption, piles of secrets, intimidation, and crime coverups. It's interesting, engaging and definitely worth your time. I actually hope they do more on this topic because there's more to know here!
