About the Creator

Judy Becker brings a strong female point of view to create a compelling story of the unlikely rise of Alice Roosevelt from rebellious princess to Washington icon. Through her extensive research, Judy discovered the force of nature that was Alice. Though lesser known than her legendary father and cousins, Judy found that Alice's insatiable thirst for knowledge, together with her enduring love of fun and adventure, gave a refreshing, new voice to the spirit, soul, and wit of the indomitable Roosevelt clan. Judy is grateful to be a part of Crowded Hours, a project that is helping to bring Alice's story of social and political influence the exposure and attention it so richly deserves.

Intriguing from the start!

This is a fascinating deep dive into a story I’d never heard of or known. I’m fascinated with Alice and her contemporaries and excited to learn more. I’m now researching all of the characters. I can’t wait for S2.

Great Historical Fiction Fun

I tend to find historical fiction to be frivolous but I think Crowded Hours is a bright spot in the genre. I came away learning a great deal about Alice and the rest of the Roosevelts and was wildly entertained in the process.

I’m obsessed with Alice!

I absolutely loved everything about this. History is not my thing but I could not stop listening to this story. I laughed out loud, I cried, I screamed at characters - it was fabulous. My husband, who is a history buff, loved it too. It was fun to have something we both loved even though our interests aren’t the same. Can’t wait for part 2!
