Starts off with some jackin, funky and disco, gets a little techy/minimal. In the second half, it gets deep, soulful and garagey (both UK and US styles)

90 minutes before my set on Friday, the woman who broke my heart walked in with her new bloke. They went straight into PDA and didn't stop. It was horrible. I tried to get away from them but it's a small club. I felt like I couldn't breathe. I felt like I had to run away. I was hurt, I was angry. I felt cuckolded, humiliated and alone. I wanted to get the fk outta there. People were telling me to just forget about it. But this stuff comes from the heart. If I shut off my emotions, my set will be rubbish. If I stay connected to them, I might explode in rage. So, 30 minutes before my set, I grabbed my bag and walked out. I almost made it to my car when my mate found me and talked me down.

This set is what becomes of the brokenhearted. If you've ever danced and cried at the same time; or danced to exorcise your demons, you'll understand. The club-set was only 45 minutes. When I got home, I played it again and kept recording until I had a full episode.

Hi folks,

In case you haven't heard, Larry's Herd (myself, Chic Daddy, Megan X, Richie Haynes, Sol Michael and Maurizio) will be taking over The Lucky Cat on Friday with Norm De Plume.

Pash (aka NDP) is a close friend of Larry's Herd and helped in its creation. His Analogue Discogue parties were a big inspiration. The tortured beauty of Deep House, juxtaposed with the ecstatic joy of Disco. The two related (but very different) genres, working together to bring out the best in both. Norm/Pash has been perfecting the craft of vinyl/rotary mixing for several decades, during which time he's also published a string of his own successful records.

The best write-up I can give Pash/Norm is that he gets me dancing - yes, while I usually display all the dynamism of a sloth, Norm De Plume is one of that small handful of DJs who has gotten me moving in recent years.

Alex and I run a facebook group called House and Techno Sydney (HATS) - the artwork tells a story of a nefarious shadow government, pulling the strings behind the scenes, while the pretty-boy figurehead shakes hands and kisses babies. Now that I got that out of my system... Alex is a legend. He used to light up the House clubs in Sydney before he became a dad; now he's an awesome mobile DJ playing the Macarena and toasting happy couples.
