Eyes sewn open?

In his confession, which is excerpted in the next episode, Keyes is very clear about how he used a needle and fishing line in his attempt to make Samantha's body appear alive so it's hard to imagine why they would perpetuate the false idea that her eyes were sewn open. Even more inconceivable is how they managed to get this wrong when they are interviewing an FBI agent who has seen the actual photo
