    Bio: As Vice President within the LPL Financial Research department, Mr. Hoody is responsible for overseeing traditional manager due diligence and sustainable investing. He oversees the team that is responsible for researching and recommending third-Party equity and fixed income managers that are used throughout LPL’s various platforms, including centrally managed models. He also oversees LPL’s sustainable investing efforts, including manager research, model management, and advisor outreach. prior to joining LPL in 2015, Mr. Hoody was a research analyst for a registered investment advisor (RIA) where he performed manager diligence, asset allocation studies, and portfolio construction for 401k and pension plans. He began his financial services career in 2004 with BB & T where he performed manager diligence and portfolio construction and has also performed privately held company and intellectual property valuations while at KPMG and Dixon Hughes Goodman. Mr. Hoody is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder and holds a BS in political science from Clarkson University, an MA in international affairs from American University, and an MS in finance from Johns Hopkins University.

Prior to joining the firm, Michael was the Director of Research at ORION. Investment Advisors and worked with the investment management group of Clark Enterprises Inc., a private investment firm. He received a BA in Finance from the University of Maryland and is a CFA® charterholder and member of the CFA Society of Washington and CFA Institute. In his free time, Michael enjoys spending time with his sixteen nieces and nephews and rooting on University of Maryland and DC sports teams.
