    Dark Topic Cold.

May 10th 1973. A masked man brandishing a pistol and a rifle, enters the CIBC (Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce) in downtown Kenora, Ontario. A dead man’s switch that looks more like a duck whistle, is clenched between his teeth. The switch is connected to a bag slung over his shoulder which he claims to contain a bomb. Everybody better behave, or be blown to smithereens.

This ep starts off a little odd for DT. I had a loss in my family that I shouldn't speak publicly about yet so I cut it. Also, this is a previously released on Patreon, but unreleased public ep of DT. Thanks for understanding. Although, this is confusing no doubt.

July 12th 2013. A Friday afternoon in the quaint village of Richfield Wisconsin. A young woman attempting to walk her dog through a nature park is accosted by a would be rapist who jumps out from behind a van in the secluded spots parking area. Daniel Bartelt - a bad actor - would run away to regroup. And get it right in a repeat performance.

Unapologetic

Brother, I listen because youre a phenomenal story teller and youre real, you unselfishly gives us glimpses into your life, warts and all.
The lives of children are segmented, iterations that may last a day or months, they all play their part in the person your son will become. You don't want to miss any of the iterations and any parent listener worth their salt will understand and appreciate your commitment to Family.
All that said, your commitment and professionalism are apparent in your work. Thanks very much

Jack Is A Fabulous Storyteller

His telling of these stories is raw, which is how I want to hear them. The stories are gruesome, and Jack's style is perfect for the telling of them.

Best True Crime Podcast

This is by far my favorite true crime podcast! I really like that it includes lesser known crimes along with more infamous stories. These crimes are obviously well researched and the script and delivery is epic! Luna throws in his personal experiences and goes off script to add a touch of some dark (but hilarious) humor every once on a while but stays on script 90% of the time. I don't get freaked out by descriptions of violence, but this is the only podcast where I've had to pause it a few times to gather myself....only to keep playing bc I have to know how the story ends.

Redefines The Standard

Jack Luna is the greatest true crime podcast host on the planet. I often work the graveyard shift, so I’ve listened to the vast majority of the genre. Both his writing and narration are haunting. His candor and vulnerability, along with his unflinching willingness to explore the most disturbing details of a case, make it feel more like an experience than a podcast.

I listen to a lot of true crime. This is the best.

Jack Luna is an amazing writer and story teller. I’ve told anyone I think would be interested to give it a listen (admittedly is not many; I’m anti-social, ha.) I really can’t get enough. I’ve listened to all of Dark Topic and have also joined the tier 13 Patreon. 11:59 is where it’s at, but Luna kills it with Dark Topic.
