• People tracing, process serving and a private investigator’s moan of the month!
    May 14 2025

Hello and welcome to another episode of the ‘Diary of a Private Investigator’ podcast, with me you host, Nathan Hoole.

I’m the founder and lead investigator of Dolos Investigations based in Sheffield, UK and I started this podcast to share my stories, thoughts and experiences from the world of private investigation, from people tracing to cheating partners.

This month, I received a question from a listener asking for any thoughts I had around process serving/bailiff work as they’re just applying for their certification. I dive into a few of my experiences and thoughts on what it a commonly misunderstood job.

I also share some stories around people tracing and the positives (and risk) that sometimes comes with it. People tracing has its highs and lows just like anything else, when you’ve managed to complete the job and make a positive impact on someone’s life then that’s a top result! Sometimes though, you need a little due diligence to not only protect yourself but your client and possibly the person being traced.

Aside from the usual PI stories, I also share my moan of the month so make sure you stay tuned until the end of the episode!

  • Abusive relationships, show business, investigative journalism and more with Charlotte Tollan
    Apr 9 2025

Hello and welcome to the ‘Diary of a Private Investigator, with me you host, Nathan Hoole of Dolos Investigations.

This week, I’m joined by the talented Charlotte Tollan of Ceres Mesotron in London.

Charlotte has an incredible story, from her early beginnings in show business to venturing into the world of private investigation and surveillance. She’s also experienced first hand abusive control and manipulation by an ex partner which has driven her to hone her skills in the PI world and become the strong powerhouse that she is today.

After listening to episode six where I spoke about coercive behaviour, Charlotte reached out and started to regale her personal story and experiences. From compiling a mound of her own evidence to having to force police to take her phone for investigation, to escaping what was in all honesty, a toxic relationship, Charlotte is now headed into becoming an investigative journalist.

Co-director of the Ceres Mesotron company in London, Charlotte is well on her way to becoming a true force to be reckoned with in the the world of PI.

  • Episode 9 - Investigating sex noise complaints and reflecting on mental health and the black dog
    Nov 1 2024

Join your host Nathan Hoole as he delves into one his latest cases, a landlord's noise complaint about sex noises from a suspected 'online entertainer'. Nathan also delves deeply into his history and experiences with mental health including depression and anxiety, his pathways through them and how he rediscovered his purpose. It's an interesting episode that details how easy it can be to succumb to the feelings of depression and anxiety, a conversation that's more important than ever. Although we've detoured slightly from the usual tales of the world of private investigation, Nathan still manages to talk about one of his latest, Chuckle Brothers inspired stories...
