    In this episode, prof. Kirsten Gronbaek and dr. Shahram Kordasti discuss the role of immune dysfunction in MDS. With the improving understanding of complex pathophysiology of MDS, the major role of the immune system in this process is becoming increasingly apparent.

Kordasti discuss the multifactorial interactions between the malignant clones and the inflammatory environment, manifesting in elements of autoimmunity and elements of autoinflammation in MDS. As the complexity of immunophenotypes observed in MDS is being unraveled, the need to include immunophenotypic factors in the prognostic scores is growing.
