Episode 22

I thought that this episode was very interesting, Lots of interesting books to listen to. I always like to listen to Audicted near when I get my monthly credit so I can see if there is anything on the list that I would want to use my credit on.

An excellent interview

I've seen Marcus Samuelsson on Top Chef and Chopped and he always has great things to say about food. He has an engaging personality and his passion for life in general and food in particular really comes across. I really liked hearing what he had to say about Harlem and his relationship with the area. His thoughts on staving off gentrification while also encouraging growth were fascinating. The interviewers also asked insightful questions and had clearly done their homework on their interviewee.

Now, that said, I'm not sure this episode succeeds as an episode of a podcast ostensibly about a chef. I felt like the recommendations to Samuelsson were largely unrelated to the subject of the interview and frankly, none of them sounded particularly interesting to me. Likewise the post-interview recommendations. I downloaded this to hear the thoughts of a chef and none of the books mentioned (as far as i can recall) had anything to do with food. I'm sure the books are all wonderful or whatever, but they didn't pique my interest or give me anything to explore on this subject.

I gave it five stars across the board solely on the strength of the interview and for Samuelsson himself. The interview really was very good, so kudos to the team for that.

Bad episode

Why have an episode of a podcast on audiobooks hardly mention any audiobooks at all??? I do not listen to audictrd to hear about a chef & his restaurants a total waste of an episode
