Why do people do such Evil things?

I choose to believe, that people at their core are kind and loving. Why is it that people do such evil things, to others. Stalin, Hitler, Moe, Anmar Kadafi, Gangas Khan,
Radical Islam, etc. They want POWER, MONEY and FAME. How did this workout for all these Big Shots. They will all answer, to a higher power. What are thy going to say, when they are asked why, did you do, what you did?
