About this listen
He was dubbed the 'Bus Stop Rapist' and he struck again and again. But it was the story of 13-year-old Milly Dowler, snatched on her way home from school, which captured the imagination of a nation... and led in part to the downfall of a national newspaper.
©2017 Audible, Ltd. (P)2017 Audible, Ltd.After several months of her voicemail not being able to take calls due to being full, it once again started accepting voicemail messages-- something that her parents were incredibly hopeful over.
The second part of this story involved phone hacking regarding the Royal Family as well as others, linking it to the first disappearance of 13-year-old Milly Dowler. The extent of this created a public uproar which led to the downfall of newspaper just to create a story. The News of the World was shut down due to this scandal.
A seemingly unconnected case that happened seven years earlier seemed to tie into the Milly Dowler case. This person would stalk people off of the bus stop and attack them. The entire case seems to have been something from a police novel in how it unfolds. Makes you kind of wonder about humanity at times after hearing this episode.
