  • Summary

  • Bonnie meets an inspirational figure who was crucial to the Civil Rights movement in the USA. Pauli Murray was an activist, lawyer and poet who broke the mould. She’s the most influential person in the civil rights movement you’ve probably never heard of. As the series draws to a close, Bonnie visits her beloved British Museum to ask what is the legacy of all these untold stories - and how we can reshape our history to tell a richer tale about our world.

More Stones Finally Turned

Working through my election cycle reading of Wright, Ellison, Baldwin, Malcom and others, I came upon this gem. As we say “Just when I thought I had heard it all”. Bonnie Greer has opened my horizons to entire bodies of work I was not smart enough to find on my own.

This series has prompted me to begin my own study.

Audible only has episodes 6-8, but there is a wealth of information within those episodes that I will expand upon.

WOW!

As I search for more was to educate myself and expand my knowledge of black history and lean into more black voices, I could not have picked a better podcast to start with. This was powerful and the information I learned was new, fascinating and sometimes hard to hear. This is the history we should be teaching and learning about and I applaud Bonnie Greer for her research and the format in which she presented it here. Highly recommend!

Thought provoking, fascinating and entertaining!

This was so well done, shining light into dark corners of our shared history which has shaped and sometimes distorted our lives.
So many of us have only a superficial Understanding of how we got here. In this era of the rise of BLM, helps the listener to great lessons and people from history. I recommend it highly.
