gotta be weird to like it

if you're boring and don't know what mr show is or don't like mr show or have any appreciation for the type of comedy Bob Odenkirk does, like you like him just because you saw him on shows about the meth trade, then you probably won't appreciate this. Go get something by seth rogan, it's probably more your speed...pot jokes or stories about his nights of doing blow with James Franco, you know, lame crap like that. This had me laughing right off the bat! I really enjoy it, like I knew what I was in for as soon as it started: that classic oddball Bob Odenkirk comedy. You had me at hotdog.

Voted “Best Podcast Ever” by Socks Monthly Magazine

This podcast is funny as hell. It has a feel that’s more “audio play” than a traditional podcast, and I’m here for it. It’s funny but in a quirky, slightly bizarre way. It is as if David Sedaris and Joe Frank had a podcast baby.

brutally unfunny

this is not funny. however, you may like it if you enjoy "improv comedy". the jingle for the payday lone place made me chuckle slightly, so i gave it an extra star

A new low for so-called humor

I listened to Escape from Virtual Island and honestly thought it would be impossible to create something more imbecilically unfunny, but I was wrong. That other product and this podcast seem to be part of a trend in Audible Originals to come up with a vague idea for a story and then write a continuous stream of foolish, unfunny one-liners to drape on the ill-defined, unfunny frame, with a fair bit of low-value-added sound effects to fill more time. At least it was included in the Plus Catalog so all the extra it cost me was the time I wasted listening to it, but if this is indicative of what Audible considers high-quality content, then I think I can safely ignore any other Audible Originals that allege to be "hilariously funny". The value of the membership is declining for me as time goes on and the inclusion of negative value items like this is primarily responsible. Surely Audible can create better content than this to proudly claim as "Originals".

The Audible version of People of Walmart

As a small town resident, I’ve enjoyed listening to a variety of essays, podcasts, radio shows, etc, which fictionalize poke fun of small town life. I enjoy this very much, and usually find an element of love underlying whatever fun is had at our expense. I was ecstatic to see see one of my favorite actors/writers had created what I thought would be such a show. But it’s clear that there’s no Homage to the small town in ‘Summer in Argyle”. A parade of stereotypes and unconvincing dialog is painted over by an immersive soundscape of people clearing their throats and dogs barking, a brute force attempt to place the listener into a completely affectionless world. It’s Lake Wobegone after the successful invasion of the body snatchers.

Nope

Love Bob. Not here however. Silly but boring. It is forced and just not funny.
