Dreck Noir Writing

The writing is crap. Makes every character in every episode totally repellant. It's a good thing that a) it's based on/a telling of a fascinating true Hollywood crime story; and b) the performances are mostly pretty good. I don't have the first clue why B list actors agreed to do this. The only thing that kept me listening was the performance level (aside from some horrendous accents). Writing so very bad that sometimes I am having to force myself to keep listening. On ep. 3. Don't know if I'll be able to finish.

The worst bundle of old tropes

Stop me if you’ve heard this tired, misogynistic archetype...

She’s from a home where dad left and stepdad is abusive. She leaves the small town determined never to be powerless. She uses men for power as it suits her. Poor men, a victim of a wiley, unethical woman.

I had to stop listening in the first chapter, they didn’t even write a story, they just took every cliche that already existed and put them in order of plot points.

Terrible and disappointing
