Episode #15 Murder at the Met: Helen Mintiks

  • Summary

  • It’s Self-Care Week at MMOTW, and Kelly and Stacey are here to help you self-care your way through whatever it is you need to work out. But first, we deliver your weekly dose of True Crime - and the very sad, very true story of Helen Mintiks - a talented, young violinist who was murdered at the Metropolitan Opera House. If you’ve never heard of this case, well, you’ve unfortunately heard many just like it: a toxic male who can’t handle rejection retaliates by doing something ghastly. We are SO into our time machine lately, and this week we’re taking you back to the hot summer of 1980 in NYC, where the crime rate was through the roof - and on top of the roof. Fortunately, there were some keen-eyed detectives on the case. Also, whoops. Kelly says Libby was a NYTimes app - but it’s a public library app. Complete with a Teen Banned Book Club!
