The Great Diversion is a dynamic rock trio based in Ottawa, Ontario, known for blending post-hardcore intensity with melodic pop sensibilities. Formed by musicians from Timmins and Hawkesbury, the band channels the spirit of early 2000s emo, delivering emotionally charged vocals, heavy breakdowns, and infectious hooks.
Their debut EP, Rocks and Rapids, released in 2015, introduced their powerful sound. In October 2020, they unveiled their first full-length album, This Is It… This Is the End, a self-financed and self-produced project that garnered critical acclaim and won the 2021 Capital Music Award for Best Production and Arrangements.
