I'm on the second episode and I already see how this production is one side. The first episode says that they aren't trying to prove Michael guilty or innocent but in the next episode they immediately bring out all types of propaganda against Michael and when they play the statements of people defending Michael Jackson, the narrative says that "they were convinced to think that. This whole production is pushing false narrative. I should've known when I saw this pushed all over social media advertisements.

Biased

I fall into the camp I thought this was marketed towards - someone who enjoys Michael’s music but uneasy and unsettled by him as a person. Was looking for some well rounded and well documented discussion and information to help become better educated. I only made it to episode 2 before realizing I wasn’t going to find that here. Instead I found a poorly put together collection of questionable sources - the majority of which were tabloid reporters. In addition to that, at one point they lay claim that the movie Hook by Stephen Spielberg was being developed specifically for Michael - this is an easily debunked statement. Michael campaigned to be cast as Peter Pan but the movie was not developed for him.

This seems like a trivial thing to mention but my reason for doing so is to demonstrate that if something this easily verified and this well documented is discussed in a misleading way, I can only imagine what else is or will be woven together incorrectly into a false narrative. What their end goal is I don’t know and I won’t be continuing to listen to find out. What I know is what it isn’t - it is certainly not a well researched and unbiased open look at the man and the music - the good the bad and the ugly.

Poorly Researched With Questionable Sources

I grew up in the 80’s and the first couple of episodes are very interesting. Guilty or innocent, love or hate, the art & music of Michael Jackson lead to great fame and clearly many demons for the artist and those around him.

The reviews all fall into one of two camps - Michael fans who object to anything other than a total vindication and everyone else who are interested hearing the full story. The former will not like the comprehensive review of his life, career, and the accusations but, the latter will find it compelling.

Well balanced
