John Adams was born on October 30, 1735 in Braintree (now Quincy), MA, and he was the 2nd President of the United States. Feisty and hot-tempered, Adams represented the British soldiers accused of murder in the Boston Massacre. He was a consummate statesman serving the newly established United States of America as Minister to France, the Netherlands, and England. He was a colleague of Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin and George Washington. Although he found being Vice President under Washington to be a most "insignificant office."
